Struktur morfologi kaki berperan penting terutama untuk mobilitas baik pada saat berdiri maupun berjalan. Deteksi dini dan pemantauan yang adekuat memungkinkan anak untuk mengembangkan sistem lokomotor fungsional dengan benar. Proses deteksi dini diharapkan dapat mencegah gangguan dan gejala yang ditimbulkan akibat adanya masalah perkembangan pada kaki anak. Deteksi dini yang dilakukan meliputi tahap screening, tahap deteksi dini, tahap pendidikan kesehatan kepada orangtua, dan tahap pelaporan hasil. Pemeriksaan foot posture dilakukan kepada 28 orang anak menggunakan foot posture index (FPI) menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar anak memiliki postur kaki dalam rentang nilai normal yaitu 0-5. Orangtua juga diberikan penyuluhan dan didapatkan hasil bahwa orangtua semakin memahami setelah mendapatkan penjelasan tentang postur dan perkembangan kaki anak normal sesuai usia.
