Abstract

Peanuts(Arachis hypogeaeL.) are one of the commoditiesof palawijawith higheconomic value, because they can meet the nutritional needs of the community, especially the needs of protein and vegetable fats. Peanuts can be consumed in various forms, including as a vegetable ingredient, sauce, and fried or boiled. As an industrial ingredient can be made cheese, butter,soap and oil.Peanutleaves can be used for animalfeed and green manure.Thisstudy aimsto determine the effect of coconutshell bioactive compost charcoal on the growth and yield of peanut plants(Arachis hypogeaeL.) on alluvialsoilsin polybags. This research lasted for 82 days starting on May 09-July 29 at the Green House of the Faculty of Agriculture, Panca Bhakti University, Pontianak.Thisstudy used a complete randomized design (RAL) with 6 levels of treatment, each treatment was repeated 4 times and each treatment consisted of 3 plants, so thatthe number of plants usedwas 6 x 4 x 3= 72 plants (polybags) while the provision of bioactive compost charcoal in each treatment in this study was a0 = 0 gr / polybag, a1 = 20 gr / polybag, A2 = 40gr/polybag, A3 = 60 gr/polybag, A4 = 80 gr/polybag, A5 = 100 gr/polybag. Variable parameters observed include plant height (cm), number of branches (branches), number of pods of planting contents(pods), weight of dry pods of planting (grams). The resultsshowed thatthe application of coconut shell bioactive compost charcoal had an unreal effect on the variables of plant height (cm), number of branches (branches), number of podsfilled with planting and weight of dry pods per plant (grams). Coconut shell bioactive compost charcoal application with the bestresultsfor plant height at treatment a3 (75.00cm), for the number of branches at treatment a1 (4.92 branches), forthe number of pods ofplant contents at treatment a2 (10.50 pods) anddry podweight attreatment a4(12.71grams).
