Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of training and development and leadership on the performance of functional position employees, with learning organization as a mediating variable at the Food Crops and Horticulture Office of West Kalimantan Province. The population in this study were extension officers as functional position employees at the Food Crops and Horticulture Service of West Kalimantan Province, totaling 29 people. Determination of respondents in the study by way of a census, so that the number of respondents was 29 people. Research variables include training and human resource development, leadership roles, learning performance and organization, and data measurement using a Likert Scale. Data analysis to test the research hypothesis was carried out by Path Analysis. The results of the study concluded that training, human resource development and leadership roles had a significant effect on learning organization for employees in functional positions at the Food Crops and Horticulture Service of West Kalimantan Province. Training and development of human resources, leadership roles and learning organizations have a significant effect on the performance of employees in functional positions at the Food Crops and Horticulture Office of West Kalimantan Province. Path analysis shows that directly the training and development of human resources through learning organizations has a significant influence on the performance of functional position employees at the Food Crops and Horticulture Service of West Kalimantan Province and indirectly the role of leadership through learning organizations has a significant influence on the performance of functional position employees at Food Crops and Horticulture Office of West Kalimantan Province.
